Ferocious Low Sodium Barbecue Sauce

Based on 16 servings servings per recipe.

  • 1 (6 ounce) can low-salt tomato paste
  • 1/4 (6 ounce) can water
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses
  • 1/2 cup sauteed onion, minced
  • 1/8 cup wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons barbecue spice


  1. Combine all ingredients and stir over low heat 15 minutes.
  2. May be refrigerated for up to two weeks.

About This Recipe

This barbecue sauce gets its heat from the barbecue seasoning. Control the heat by adding more or less of the seasoning.
