Simple White Sauce

Ingredients

Based on 4 servings per recipe.

  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh or 1 teaspoon dried parsley, basil, or other herbs

Preparation

  1. Mix flour and margarine or butter together in a 2 cup glass measuring cup or small microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, microwave another 30 seconds.
  3. Add cream and spices and stir.
  4. Microwave 1 minute, stir again.
  5. Microwave 1 minute.
  6. If not thickened, add 1 more minute.
