Tropical Fruit Salad with Basil Lime Syrup

Ingredients

Based on 7 (1 cup) servings per recipe.

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 1/4 cup packed basil leaves
  • 3/4 cup banana, sliced
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 3/4 cup mango, cubed
  • 2 cups pineapple, cubed

Preparation

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil and add sugar.
  2. Boil until sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove from heat and add lime zest and basil.
  4. While syrup cools, combine fruit in a large bowl.
  5. Strain syrup with cheesecloth or strainer and discard solids.
  6. Toss with fruit and enjoy

About This Recipe

Tropical fruit is delicious on its own, but you can bring it up a notch on the flavor scale with a sweet basil lime syrup.
