Apple and Cream Cheese Torte

Ingredients

Based on 10 servings per recipe.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar, divided in 1/4 cups
  • 1 cup flour
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3-4 medium apples, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream butter and 1/4 cup of sugar.
  3. Blend in flour.
  4. Press into a spring form pan.
  5. Beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup of sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Spread into the spring form pan.
  7. Toss apples with remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Arrange apples over cheese filling.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes.
  10. Reduce oven temperature to 400 degrees and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until filling is firm and the apples have softened.
