Medical Nutrition Therapy

It’s more than just nutrition education! It helps people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetes improve their health.

What is Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)?

Medical Nutrition Therapy is treatment for chronic kidney disease (CKD) provided by a registered dietitian and is recommended for all individuals with CKD. Medical Nutrition Therapy includes a complete nutrition assessment, diagnosis of nutrition problems, individualized intervention, and careful monitoring and evaluation.

You get to work one-on-one with a registered dietitian, who assesses your health, medical history, and eating habits. Together, you’ll create a personalized nutrition plan just for you.

Covered by Medicare, Apple Health, and most private insurance as a preventative service.

Why is it important?

Most people don’t know they have kidney disease, and it progresses silently. If you have high blood pressure or diabetes, ask your doctor to measure your kidney function. Eating the right foods can slow CKD. Yet, less than 15% of patients get this help early. Don’t wait — early support is key!

How can I sign up?
