Roasted Red Pepper Sauce

Ingredients

Based on 4 (1/4 cup) servings per recipe.

  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers (bottle or can)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup low salt or no salt tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper chili flakes

Preparation

  1. Drain red peppers and measure 1/2 cup (about 2 whole peppers).
  2. Place peppers and garlic in food processor or blender and process until smooth.
  3. Add tomato sauce, olive oil and Italian seasonings.
  4. Process until well blended.

About This Recipe

Use this flavorful sauce in the place of tomato sauce. Red pepper sauce will have less potassium than tomato.
