Northwest Kidney Centers names new members to its Foundation Board
Seattle, WA (March 14, 2016): Not-for-profit dialysis provider Northwest Kidney Centers recently named two new members to its Foundation Board, which raises funds and helps build connections in the community.
Catherine Bylund was a driving force behind establishment of Northwest Kidney Centers’ annual Discovery Gala and its President’s Society, which recognizes significant donors. She co-chaired Northwest Kidney Centers 50th anniversary celebration gala in 2012, and she participated on the gala planning committee in 2013 and 2015. She spent her professional career as a funeral home director.
Dr. Lisa Nakamoto is a clinical nephrologist practicing at The Polyclinic. Earlier, she was United Network for Organ Sharing medical director of kidney/pancreas transplants and a transplant nephrologist at Swedish Medical Center for five years.
Dr. Nakamoto earned her medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in general nephrology and transplant nephrology at Northwestern University, Chicago.
Northwest Kidney Centers is a regional, not-for-profit, community-based provider of kidney dialysis, public health education, and research into the causes and treatments of chronic kidney disease. Founded in Seattle in 1962, it was the world’s first dialysis organization. It remains a model in the field because of its high quality services, community connections and generous donor support.
