In Memory of Sharon R. (Verhey) Barry

1935 - 2018


Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend to so many, Sharon Barry passed away on March 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Walla Walla, Washington and grew up in Everett, Washington where she attended local schools and later completed her education at the University of Washington.

Sharon was an accomplished violinist in the Everett Symphony Orchestra. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan R. Barry; parents, Bernard and Mary Verhey; son, Michael B. Barry; brother in law, John Tonnes. She leaves behind her two daughters, Karen Warner (Tom Small) of Seattle, Wa; Kathleen Barry of Kent, Wa; sister, Cheryl Tonnes; daughter in law, Susan Barry (Michael); beloved grandchildren, Shannon Barry Cyphert (Matthew), Dr. Lindsay Warner (Mark Stevens), Christina Warner, Katherine and Sarah Henry. Her niece; Lori Tonnes Priddy (Kermit and Emma), nephews; Dan Tonnes (Shavonne, C.J. and Seychelle), Paul Tonnes (David Poston), and David Tonnes (Rohinita and Arya).

Sharon will be remembered as a very strong and courageous woman with a loving and sweet demeanor. The greatest joy she had was the time she spent with her family. She especially cherished the Lake Goodwin cabin where many family and friends gathered. Sharon will be remembered for her strength and dedication in caring for her son, Michael whom she eventually donated her kidney to. Sharon had a great love of gardening, especially her roses and sweet peas. Sharon will always be fondly remembered by her friends and family.
