Mary Lewis, Clinical Director of Staff Education, retires after 45 of service

Mary Lewis

Mary Lewis, Clinical Director of Staff Education, will be retiring at the end of the year. She began at Northwest Kidney Centers in 1976 and has been a guiding force for patient care throughout her career. Top rankings for quality care from both federal regulators and patients do not happen coincidentally, and Mary has been a key contributor to Northwest Kidney Centers’ success.

Mary has directed Northwest Kidney Centers Dialysis Academy, which trains nurses and technicians in the principles of kidney care, and her programs have been adopted by the state of Washington as the industry standard.

She has fostered care for thousands of dialysis patients via the training she and her team provide to caregivers. As a result of several partnerships she has helped develop with local nursing schools and with Medic One, many health care providers in our broader community are aware of and attuned to the particular needs of people on dialysis.

Thank you, Mary, for your significant contributions to Northwest Kidney Centers and to the field of renal care.
