Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator visits Northwest Kidney Centers

Chief Administrative Officer Liz McNamara leads Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure and members of her team on a tour of Northwest Kidney Centers facilties.

Northwest Kidney Centers had the distinct honor of hosting Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure and members of her team this past August. Ms. Brooks-LaSure was appointed by President Biden in May 2021 to oversee programs including Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the HealthCare.gov health insurance marketplace for the nation.

Administrator Brooks-LaSure spent the afternoon at our Seattle clinic, touring our special care unit and home training hub and then took a tour of our dialysis museum. During an in-depth meeting, Northwest Kidney Centers leadership shared the challenges faced by non-profit kidney care providers and discussed potential ways to collaborate with CMS to strengthen health equity, policy, and reimbursement to better support our staff and patients.
