Quick Pizza Dough

Ingredients

Based on tbd servings per recipe.

  • 2 envelopes Fast-acting yeast
  • a pinch Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Lukewarm water for yeast
  • 1 cup Lukewarm water for flour
  • 3 1/2 cups All purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil

Preparation

  1. Sprinkle yeast and sugar into 1/4 cup lukewarm water.
  2. Let stand 2-3 minutes, stir until dissolved.
  3. Cover with towel 3-5 minutes or until yeast bubbles up and doubles in volume.
  4. Preheat oven to 500°F.
  5. Measure flour and make a well in center.
  6. Add yeast mixture, 1 cup lukewarm water and oil.
  7. Mix dough with fork until a rough ball forms.
  8. Knead on floured board for about 5 minutes, adding more flour if dough remains sticky.
  9. Dust lightly with flour, place in large clean bowl and cover.
  10. Set in a warm spot for 10 minutes.
  11. Meanwhile, get toppings ready.
  12. Then fold dough over itself, divide into 2 balls & roll out 1/4 inch thick by about 12-14 inches.
  13. Spread with tomato paste, oil and herb mixture (recipe below) and add your choice of toppings.
  14. Bake for 8-12 minutes.
  15. Remove and serve.
  16. You can also make 8-10 ‘mini pizzas’ and everyone can top their own!
