Registration and Insurance Coordinator

Responsibilities

The Registration and Insurance Coordinator is responsible to the Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services for maintaining the patient registration and admission records for all patients, including the transient patients and the non-ESRD patients. This position is also responsible for maintaining current insurance information and benefits information for billing purposes. This position has ongoing interactions with the Financial Case Managers in the Patient Finance Department. This position also works closely with the Patient Services Coordinator and the Clinical Services Coordinator as well as the NKC Billing Department and Pharmacy Department.

Requirements

The Registration and Insurance Coordinator should have the equivalent of 2 years of community college training in business and/or office procedures and the equivalent of 2 years of experience in a medical office environment in a registration or billing position.

The Registration and Insurance Coordinator must be experienced in insurance funding for patients including understanding of referrals, prior authorizations, coordination of benefits, deductibles and out of pocket expenditures and have strong working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid entitlement programs. The position requires excellent time management skills, and communication skills, both verbal and written, to support internal and external NKC relationships. Also requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and Access.

Shift

8:00AM-4:30PM, Mon-Fri. AA degree or 2 years exp. in medical office environment. Knowledge of insurance COB, including Medicare, Medicaid and group plans. Strong communication skills.
