Strawberries Brulee

Ingredients

Based on 8 servings per recipe.

  • 1 6 ounce packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed and divided
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries

Preparation

  1. In bowl, beat cream cheese with electric mixer until fluffy.
  2. Add sour cream and two tablespoons brown sugar; beat till smooth.
  3. Reserve 1 berry for garnish; halve remaining berries and arrange evenly in bottom of a shallow 8-inch round broiler-proof dish.
  4. Spoon cream mixture over berries.
  5. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar evenly over cream mixture.
  6. Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat for 1 to 2 minutes or until sugar turns golden brown.
  7. Slice reserved berry; arrange atop dessert.
  8. Serve immediately.
