Dairy foods can be high in fat. If you are limiting these foods to control your phosphorus level, you won't be getting too much butter fat. You can use lower fat products to cut the fat even more. Choose which of these low-calorie menu ideas you will try:

  • Use non-fat or low-fat milk instead of regular or 2% milk. Try lower-fat yogurt instead of creamier types.
  • Try lower-fat cheese like low-fat mozzarella and low-fat cottage cheese instead of creamy types.
  • Use low-fat yogurt instead of sour cream and low-fat cream cheese instead of regular cream cheese.
