Controlling Thirst

If your blood sugar is higher than normal, you will be thirsty. Learn to pay attention to this thirst. It may be saying you are eating too much food, especially sweets and starches, or need more insulin. Get your blood sugar checked and contact your doctor. Some changes may be needed. For ways to handle the thirst until you get your blood sugar back to normal, turn to the Fluid section.
