Eat Less Cholesterol

Usually cholesterol levels will get high in the blood because the diet is high in fat. So, controlling your fat intake is the most important diet change you can make. These tips can help you limit your cholesterol. Choose the ones you will try.

  • Eat only 4 egg yolks per week. Since egg whites have no cholesterol, you could use 2 eggs and remove the yolk of one for a lower cholesterol breakfast.
  • Use cholesterol-free egg substitutes as often as you like for a high-protein meal or in cooking and baking.
  • Choose poultry and fish more often. Red meat is all right to eat because it is high in protein and iron, but choose lean cuts.
  • Don't choose organ meats, such as liver, more than once a week.
