Your kidneys are amazing! Whether you have arrived at our website out of curiosity about these vital organs or because you have recently been diagnosed with kidney disease, the Northwest Kidney Centers is here to support you.

If you have recently discovered that you have kidney failure, you may feel scared or confused.

 

You may have many questions about what will happen to you, how you will feel physically and emotionally, and what your life will be like.

Your doctor probably has already explained your diagnosis to you. What is important now is to learn about your kidneys and your illness as well as treatment and how to adjust to it.

 

Treatment can allow you to maintain your health and, with some changes, to live much as you did before your diagnosis.


Learning as much as you can is an important part of caring for your kidneys. The more you learn, the better off you will be.

Kidney disease affects many people. The number of people on dialysis in the U.S. has grown from 57,000 in 1980 to more than 200,000 today. Kidney failure has many causes.
