Requirements and Process

The Northwest Kidney Centers welcomes your help! People of all ages are invited to apply for volunteer positions within the following program areas: Administrative, Events, Health & Community Fairs, Speakers Bureau and Together for Life.

Car Buddies must be at least 18 years of age, and Community Dialysis Center and Internet volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.

NKC requests a 3 month minimum volunteer commitment. In order to become a volunteer, one must:

• 1) Fill out an NKC Volunteer Application Form,
• 2) Interview with the Volunteer Program Coordinator, and
• 3) Consent to a Washington State Patrol background check.

If a prospective volunteer plans to work in the dialysis units, s/he must also attend a 4-hour training program which includes screening for tuberculosis (TB).
