2010 Patient Satisfaction Survey

In spring 2010 Northwest Kidney Centers staff distributed a written opinion survey to 1,390 dialysis patients. The response rate was 62 percent compared to the 33 percent response rate in the last patient survey (2008). The survey was translated into three languages — Spanish, Vietnamese, and Chinese — accounting for 37 of the respondents.

In response to the question, "How would you rate your entire experience with all staff and services at Northwest Kidney Centers?" 87 percent said their experience was excellent or very good. This constitutes a 1 percent increase from 2008.

Overall satisfaction: Patients gave high ratings for their entire experience with staff and services at Northwest Kidney Centers, with 87 percent saying their experience was excellent or very good, the same response as in 2008, the last time we surveyed.

Likelihood to recommend Northwest Kidney Centers: Nearly all patients (98 percent) said they were likely to recommend Northwest Kidney Centers to someone who needs dialysis.

Open communication: More than nine in 10 patients said "yes" in response to questions asking whether Northwest Kidney Centers openly tells about changes that affect them as a patient and whether they feel they can talk openly to staff about dialysis and care.
