Clyde Shields Service Award - Seeking Nominations

It’s that time of year when Northwest Kidney Centers prepares to award the Clyde Shields Distinguished Service Award.

This award is named after Clyde Shields, one of the very first dialysis patients.  In 1960, Clyde Shields bravely volunteered himself for pioneering medical research in the treatment of kidney failure.  This allowed the first team of doctors, nurses and engineers to test their ideas and theories of hemodialysis.  In honor of his dedication, spirit and generosity, Northwest Kidney Centers presents the Clyde Shields Distinguished Service Award each year

This year, the nominee can be from any where in the U.S., provided they have had an impact in Washington State.  Nominations are due by Thursday, March 13 (World Kidney Day!).

Nominees can have done their work through advocacy, clinical care, research, etc.  Examples of nominees include, patients, teachers, volunteers, staff, board members, scientists, politicians, supporters, outreach workers, or anyone other than a doctor.
