The mission of Northwest Kidney Centers is to promote the optimal health, quality of life and independence of people with kidney disease, through patient care, education and research.
• Northwest Kidney Centers is the fourth largest non-profit independent dialysis organization in the United States.
• We were the first out-patient dialysis center in the world, opening our doors in 1962.
• We provide comprehensive, high-quality treatment for patients with kidney failure as well as support services for patients and their loved ones.
• We have 550 people on our staff and provide $36 million per year in salaries and benefits to our well-trained employees.
• We serve 1,400 dialysis patients (1,200 people receive treatment in centers and 200 receieve treatment at home). We are the largest provider of dialysis services in the Pacific Northwest and offer one of the largest home hemodialysis program in the United States.
• Our budget is $80 million per year; 75 percent from Medicare’s End-Stage Renal Disease Program. The balance comes from private insurance, Medicaid, Washington State’s Kidney Disease Program, patient resources, and generous community donations.
• No patient is ever denied optimal renal care. We provide $15.3 million in uncompensated care and $3 million in community benefits including education, training, research and support programs.
