Throughout more than three decades as a physician, Dr. Michael Kelly has garnered the admiration of patients, peers, students, organizations and the medical community. His dedication to a life of service and his passion, skill and wisdom as a caring physician and talented teacher have made a significant impact on his patients and their families. Nearly 1,000 Northwest Kidney Centers patients have benefited from his exceptional care.
Dr. Kelly’s long tenure as a Northwest Kidney Centers (NKC) trustee and volunteer is testimony to his commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who have kidney disease. In addition to his service on the NKC and NKC Foundation Boards of Trustees, Dr. Kelly took on an expanded role at NKC eight years ago to serve as medical director of NKC’s Special Care Unit. This unit cares for the community’s most medically fragile kidney patients.
Dr. Kelly recently retired as a practicing nephrologist from Minor & James Medical in Seattle and will continue to serve the community as a nephrologist and medical faculty member at Harborview Medical Center.
At the request of many of Dr. Kelly’s patients, Northwest Kidney Centers Foundation is establishing the Michael R. Kelly, MD Endowment Fund for Special Care to benefit the Special Care Unit .
